Sale of used Kiwanis Old Town bikes

Here’s a great program if you’re planning to get back to cycling, but aren’t sure you dive deep enough to justify going to a bike shop and spending thousands of dollars on a “professional” bike. Or maybe as your kids get older one of them has grown up with a bike they’ve always had and it’s time for a bigger bike.

Next Saturday, the 12th Orono – Old Town Kiwanis will hold its used bike sale. Hours will be 9 am until noon and the sale will take place at the Kiwanis Auction Site, 168 Forest Avenue in Orono. They will start with over 40 bikes priced between $ 10 and $ 40. These are full suspension and road bikes for high school students and adults. They are all sold “as is”, but all are in working order. Call them ‘new to you’ bikes. Discover the outdoors this summer. We don’t have to feel guilty for leaving home this summer. Maybe your goal is to get out there and pedal this pandemic 15.

Okay, maybe you won’t be the next Lance Armstrong.

This makes a good use of a bicycle. Buy the bike and it’s up to you to do what you want with it, right. Who’s kidding, the last time I got on a bike it said “One at a time”. I sat in the seat and the tires screamed.

Return of the sale of used bicycles. If the bikes don’t sell out next Saturday morning, they’ll open Tuesday evenings between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on June 15, 22 and 29.
