The price of the BS6 Benelli Leoncino 500 bike in India has increased

BS6 Leoncino 500 was launched in India in February this year at ₹ 4.6 lakh (ex-showroom). This meant that the Italian motorcycle maker’s scrambler had received a substantial price reduction of 20,000 compared to the BS4 model. This was in stark contrast to the market trend where BS6 motorcycles saw an upward price revision during the transition from BS4 to BS6. While the Leoncino 500’s price drop was a welcome change, we had an idea that it wouldn’t last long and could be Benelli’s strategy to rack up quick sales. As we had anticipated, Leoncino 500 has now suffered a price hike in the country. BS6 Leoncino now gets a price of 4.7 lakh for the steel gray color option while the Leoncino 500 paint scheme in red will set you back 4.8 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom India.

As mentioned above, this price increase does not surprise us, especially when other car manufacturers are also making their vehicles expensive. India’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp recently announced a price hike from July 1, 2021 due to rising input costs. We believe that the Italian brand has also increased the price of the Leoncino 500 due to the high prices of raw materials.
